Introduction of Tapped Transformer
The transformer tap is a commonly used method of changing the number of winding turns to adjust the relationship between the input voltage and the output voltage.
Generally, a number of taps are drawn from the high-voltage winding of the double-winding transformer and the high-voltage winding and medium-voltage winding of the three-winding transformer, and they are called taps. The device used to switch the tap is called a tap switch.
The role of transformer center tap
The transformer secondary has a center tap. For the center tap, the absolute value of the voltage at both ends is equal, and the phase is opposite, at any instant.
If the transformer is to provide rectified DC voltage to the equipment, then the center tap can be used for full-wave rectification.
If the transformer is used for coupling between amplifiers, then the center tap plus the two ends can provide two signals with opposite phases and equal amplitudes for push-pull output.
The principle of transformer center tap
Explain the three line header labels of the secondary output. The upper side is A, the center tap is B, and the lower side is C. For example, the output is dual 6V, then BA is 6V, and BC is also 6V. This output can be connected to positive by adding a rectifier. Negative power supply for dual power audio. If you need 12V output, connect A and C two heads. Other principles are the same as ordinary transformers.
Use conditions of tapped multi-group voltage transformer
1. Applicable altitude: ≤5000m
2. Ambient temperature: -15℃~+45℃
3. Relative humidity: ≤90%
4. There should be no gas, steam, chemical deposits, dirt, conductive dust and other explosive, flammable and corrosive substances that seriously affect the insulation strength of the transformer.
5. Anyone that does not meet the above conditions of use should be determined through consultation with us.
